There’s so much to love about living here in Jersey City,

especially in the lively Journal Square neighborhood. This charming, friendly community has a long history as the cultural center of Hudson County in addition to being close proximity to other great Jersey City communities such as Hoboken, Newport, and Grand Street. Today it’s a flourishing diverse neighborhood the combines the best of urban living with a close-knit community vibe.

Journal Square will entice you

with its restaurants and nightlife, shopping, and cultural offerings. Some of the popular spots include New Park Tavern, a former 1930s speakeasy that retains its old-era charm, known for its burgers and friendly patrons and staff; along with recent arrivals Whealth & Co., an appealing eatery that brings Jersey City residents together over fresh, locally sourced, food and a natural passion for the community; and Corgi Spirits, the craft distillery with an on-site bar where you can sample a range of spirits from floral gins to a small-batch potato-based vodka. The local foodie scene also includes the Journal Square Green Market, one of Jersey City’s first farmer’s markets, which entices the community with tempting products from local farmers, artisans and various food purveyors.

Other favorite destinations include Wash House Denim, the only denim development-focused studio on the East Coast, open to designers and individuals. It offers special Denim 101 classes, with hands on training, classroom instruction, and the chance to create your own jeans.

The community’s creative energy

also comes into focus at Mana Contemporary, an old tobacco warehouse that’s been converted into one of the Tri-State area’s premier art destinations, with artist studios and exhibition spaces; and Drawing Rooms, an arts space that includes exhibition galleries and studios. Loew’s Jersey Theatre, a restored 1929 classic theater that’s now been revived to host concerts, plays and films; and the 273.4-acre Lincoln Park, considered the jewel of the Hudson County Park system, are some of the landmarks that give Journal Square its special character and appeal.

Easy access to Manhattan and elsewhere is nearby at the Journal Square Transportation Center, with PATH train service into both Lower and Midtown Manhattan. The Transportation Center’s bus station provides bus service into New York City and many New Jersey locations, including Newark Liberty International Airport.
